Assam Excise Department Exam Syllabus 2020 : Know Selection Process, Syllabus

 
Excise Department, Assam has released a notification for the recruitment of 203 Assistant Inspector of Excise and Excise Constable vacancies. Today, in this article, we’ll discuss the Assam Excise department exam syllabus, selection process.

Selection Process:
The selection process comprises of three stages:
a) Written Test
b) Physical Standard Test (PST) and
c) Physical Efficiency Test
Assistant Inspector of Excise:
– Candidates whose applications are found correct altogether respects are going to be involved in a written test that can be conducted altogether to the District Headquarters or Range wise or at Guwahati depending upon the number of candidates.
– The candidates will need to appear for the Written Test within the district of his/ her present residential address/Range.
– Before entering the examination center, the biometrics of every candidate is going to be done.

Written Test:
– The written test is going to be of 100 marks and will be completely OMR based.
– There’ll be 100 questions and every question is going to be of 1 (one) mark.
– There’ll be a negative marking of ½ mark for every wrong answer.
– Candidates will use a black or navy ball pen to answer the OMR based answer sheet.
– The duration of the test is going to be of three (three) hours.
– The questions are going to be set in three parts :
(i) Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension
(ii) Matters concerning History and Culture of Assam and India and
(iii) public knowledge
 Documents to be submitted by the candidate when appearing for PST / PET
i. Certificate of proof of age. (Admit card of H.S.L.C. / equivalent examination)
ii. Certificate of HSLC or equivalent examination. ( pass certificate also as mark sheet in original)
iii. Certificate of Upper Secondary ( pass certificate also as mark sheet in original)
iv. Any certificate in Sports / Proficiency in Computers  if any etc. (For that candidate would be claiming weightage of marks)
v. Experience of service in Home Guards and Certificates of NCC including certificate of medals / Republic Day Participation Certificate etc.
vi. Certificate of Caste from the competent authority in respect of the candidates belonging to OBC & MOBC / SC /ST (P) & ST (H)
vii. Employment Exchange Registration Card/Certificate
viii. Certificate of EWS from Competent Authority as mentioned in para 4 (d) (v).
ix. 2 (two) copies of photographs of the same passport size which was uploaded within the online application.
* Candidates should bring a list of attested photocopies alongside with the originals of the subsequent documents/materials for verification by the choice Committee on the date of PST / PET.
* Candidates failing to bring the original documents won’t be considered for such qualifications as claimed by him/her and no further rectifications are going to be entertained after the test date.
Physical Standard Test (PST):
* After the documents of the candidates are verified, the candidates will be going for PST. The PST will carry no marks.
* Measurement of the peak, weight, and chest (chest just for Males) of the candidates are going to be taken after which the candidates are going to be inspected by a medic for preliminary checkup like knocked knee, vision test, color blindness test, flat foot, vein, physical deformities, etc.
* vein shall be considered a short-lived disqualification.
* Once a candidate clears the PST and preliminary medical test, he/she will need to appear within the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Physical Efficiency Test:
The Physical Efficiency Test will carry 40 marks. it’ll have 2 (two) events viz.
a) There will be a 1600 meters race for male candidates and 800 meters race for female candidates.
b) Long Jump – for male 335 cm (minimum) and for female 244cm (minimum), 3 chances (longest valid jump are going to be considered).
Male candidates:
a) Race: Those who qualify in the PST will need to appear in 1600 meters race to be completed within 450 seconds. Maximum qualifying time 450 seconds.
b) Long Jump: Minimum 335 cm for long jump (3 chances to tend and therefore the longest valid jump rounded off to the closest cm are going to be considered for awarding marks).
Female Candidates:
a) Race: Those who qualify within the PST will need to appear in 800 meters race to be completed within 240 seconds. Maximum qualifying time 240 seconds.
b) Long Jump: Minimum 244 cm for long jump (3 chances to tend and therefore the longest valid jump rounded off to the closest cm are going to be considered for awarding marks).
Excise Constable:
Physical Standard Test (PST):
– After the decision letter and therefore the identity are found correct, the candidates are going to be asked to seem within the PST.
– The PST will carry no marks.
– Measurement of the peak, weight, and chest (chest just for Males) of the candidates are going to be taken after which the candidate is going to be inspected by a medic for preliminary checkup like knocked knee, vision test, color blindness test, flat foot, vein, physical deformities, etc.

* All Candidates are going to be subjected to biometric recordings for identification after the PST/PET.
* Results of the PST and PET are going to be locally displayed at the top of every day of Test.

Written Test:  – The written test will contain 100 multiple choice type inquiries to be answered on an OMR answer sheet.
– for every correct answer, the candidate will get half a mark.
– Total marks for the Written Test are going to be 50.
– there’ll be no negative marking.
– The duration of the test is going to be of two (two) hours.
– The questions will cover the subsequent subjects:
I. Elementary Arithmetic
II. General English
III. Logical reasoning/Mental ability
IV. Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy
V. General Awareness/General Knowledge and current affairs
* Written Tests are going to be conducted throughout the State on the same day either at Guwahati or in each range or district headquarters counting on the number of candidates and convenience of the SLPRB.
Extra-Curricular Activities and Special Skills:
Based on candidates’ Educational Qualification, NCC Certificate, Home Guards, Sports and proficiency in computers, a maximum of 10 marks are going to be awarded.

Final Selection:  Excise Constable:
a) Marks are given in PET: Maximum marks 40
b) Multiple choice Written Test: Maximum marks 50
c) Extra-curricular activities and special skills: Maximum marks 10
Total: 100 marks

Assistant Inspector of Excise:
a) Multiple choice Written Test: Maximum marks 100
b) Marks awarded in PET: Maximum marks 40
c) Extra-curricular activities such as games, physical fitness, and special skills: Maximum marks 10
Total: 150 marks
